Wade Begrow

Wade Begrow is the microbiologist at Founders Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, MI. He is an avid fan of quality beer and has a strong interest in brewing and fermentation microbiology. His interests include traditional and advanced microbiological techniques to detect bacterial and fungal beer spoilers in the brewing process. Additionally, Wade is fascinated with qPCR development and yeast cryopreservation. He is a member of the Master Brewers Association of the Americas and is a member of the MBAA Food Safety Committee and the MBAA Technical Committee.

Wade is a second-generation graduate from Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University. He earned a B.S. in Biology in 2009 and completed his M.S. in Food Safety in 2014. He is a guest lecturer at MSU on food safety and the history of brewing science.
