Maany is a Doctoral candidate researching climate change impacts on malting barley quality at UC Davis. Maany’s drive for barley research comes from her Indian farming roots, and her 7-year Aussie food industry experience. She is passionate about helping the malting and brewing industry diversify malt sourcing, and proactively tackle climate change in the years to come. Her vision is to use technologies like machine learning and proteomics to predict and improve barley quality. She is a firm believer of American Malting Barley Association’s catchphrase ‘No barley no beer’.
